![]() ![]() As I have posted in other threads, just because your engine is in the "range" doesn't mean it's going to die. If you MIL is not illuminated, then you aren't having balance shaft issues. Sorry, wdbrf52h56f729170 has M272 engine #99389, which is within the affected range. Guess they don't make em like they use to! This was truly an impulse buy, as I normally do much more research before buying. However, if I am facing possible major engine repairs plus transmission issues, I will trade her in while she's still under warranty. The transmission is really annoying, it takes away from an otherwise enjoyable car. They gave the car a clean bill of health, but I suspect it was never road tested or started cold (this was a paid service, approx $250.00). I took it to my local MB dealer and had a full health check done, noting the transmission issues and also a low end noise in the engine when it first starts. The car had just had a full service at MB of Fairfax, VA. Shortly after buying, I noticed the transmission seems to shift rough when coming to a stop, it seems to really bog the engine down (a friend who drove the car thought I had left the parking brake on). I bought my black on black 2006 C230 in April, paying handsomely for the low mileage (59k), and the included one year warranty. I'm pretty concerned that I may have made a mistake in my purchase. Hello all! Hopefully not being rude, but would be ever so grateful if someone with access could check my vin to see if my 2006 c230 is in the affected range. ![]()
